The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Northern New Jersey (FCANNJ) invites you to watch the useful video presentation titled “Parents Dead: What Now?” The program is based on chapters from the informative book by author Becky Robison, titled “My Parents Are Dead: What Now? – A Panic-Free Guide to the Practicalities of Death.”

During the presentation, Becky shares the insights she gained navigating the complex legal and financial aftermath of her parents’ deaths. Becky became the executor of her parent’s estate when she was in her mid-thirties.
Her presentation is focused on post-funeral logistics. She discusses the following:

  • Managing and paying off estate debts including medical bills and credit card debt,  
  • Making decisions about inherited property, (from homes and vehicles to stocks and bonds,
  • Filing and paying taxes.
Becky offers practical advice for planning ahead to minimize stress and costs for surviving family members. She also highlights the importance of understanding local laws and seeking professional advice when necessary.
